Time, Location, and Parking

The monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m., Presbyterian Hospital,  200 Hawthorne Lane.  You are also invited to join part of the group that meets at 6:15 p.m. in the hospital cafeteria prior to the meeting for some extra networking.

We meet in a variety of rooms.  So what are you supposed to do?   Park in the visitor parking deck (entrance to the left of the main hospital entrance on Hawthorne).   Enter the hospital and an employee will show you how to find it (starting you near the main lobby).  Be sure to bring in your parking ticket to get it stamped so you don't have to pay for parking.

Programs

Programs may consist of an educational topic, networking to improve the quality of life for persons with epilepsy, discussion groups, or social activities.   The meetings are interactive and are aimed to improve the quality of life for people with epilepsy.

Here's a sample of our recent and future meetings and other activities, all occurring on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m.:

July 21:  Guest speaker Emily Corial, a pharmacist with RiteAid, has researched the list of medications submitted by our members. She has put together a presentation showing the possible interactions between our prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs

August 18:  Our guest speaker will be Dr. James Pugh, neurologist with Mecklenburg Neurology Associates. Dr. Pugh will answer many of your unanswered questions about epilepsy.

Sept. 15: Yoga instructor, Julie Johnson, will give an informative talk & demonstration on yoga techniques that are known to alter brain waves.

Oct. 20:  Support Group Picnic at 1912 Winthrop Ave. – Everyone is welcome. For details; e-mail your question to CharNCEpilepsySupport@att.net  or call 704-376-3158
