We at SupportWorks work very closely with the The Health Library at Presbyterian Hospital Matthews.  The friendly, caring, and skilled staff (some of whom are pictured here) can help you use their medical library with the most up-to-date computers, databases, journals and books. It is open not only to professional staff, but also to patients, families and the community.

Here's how it works: First you call them at 704-384-6393 (or click here to e-mail at healthlibrary@novanthealth.org) to propose a question about a disease or surgical procedure or whatever medical concern you have; a staff member will then do the preliminary research. At an appointed time at the library, you will meet with one of the staff who will explain the findings and provide you with printouts.  Any further questions can be researched at that time or in the future.  Searches for the public dealing with illnesses themselves or in a friend or family member are free; professional searches are also available at a cost of $15.00 per hour.
