SECTION 1:  Support groups in Mecklenburg County
Sex Addicts Anonymous     (781, 785)
      This 12 step program is for people who want to stop compulsive sexual behavior.  These behaviors include compulsive masturbation, pornography, Internet sex, voyeurism, exhibitionism, and many others.  For information about meetings in Charlotte, Belmont/Gastonia, Hickory, Rock Hill and Columbia (SC), call their automated service to leave a message at 866/461-1410. See No Evil   (1509,785)
      A Christian, Biblically based small group of men who use the principles of prayer and the New Testament to help solve sexual problems or addiction.  They have different types of meetings including a book study and a discussion group.       A Christian, Biblically based small group of wives whose husbands have any form of sexual addiction.  It's a non-judgmental, group providing a place where women can talk about things they have nedver been able to share with anyone else.  It also has an educational component.  For more info, call the group's voicemail at 704/786-6115 (Concord) anytime anyday. Men's Sexual Addiction Support Group (1682,785)
      A Christian, Biblically based Celebrate recovery curriculum group sponsored by Christ Community Church in Huntersville for adult men with any sexual addiction issues.  For details about time & location, click here to see the church's web site.  For details, call the Celebrate Recovery hotline for that church--it gives further contacts as available.  That number is 704/659-7435 anytime anyday.  (Click for overview of Sex Addiction resources)


S-Anon Family Group     (1426, 785)
      This 12 step group is for partners of those with sex addiction problems.  This is a friendly, informal group which helps people deal with all aspects of this sometimes very thorny problem.  For information about their weekly evening meetings, call to hear their voice mail message at 866/769-0057 (toll-free) anytime anyday. United Way 2-1-1 (Information and Referral Services)   (138, all)
This service provides comprehensive data and referral assistance for nonprofit and government resources in the NC counties of Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Union, and Anson counties and in or near the city of Mooresville, NC.  If you are calling on a landline or residential phone in one of those counties, dial 2-1-1.  If that fails, if you are calling on a cell phone, or if you are calling from anywhere else in NC, call 866/744-7778.  For calls from out of NC, use their local number of 704/377-1100. Although they are open 24 hours a day, you may wish to call weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. for non-emergency questions.
