SECTION 1:  Support groups in Mecklenburg County
Crohn's and Colitis Support Group      (1261, 766)
      This professionally facilitated group is for adults with these two disorders, as well as for members of their families.  The group generally takes a vacation during July and August.   For details about their monthly evening meetings or any other meeting in North Carolina or South Carolina, you may click here to see their local web site or call the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (NC/SC office) at 704/332-1611 or toll-free at 877/632-1611 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  (Click for overview of Gastrointestinal Disorders resources)

The Charlotte Area Celiac Sprue Support Network    (1397, 766)
      A group of people with celiac sprue or related disorders as well as their familes gather quarterly.  To learn about their meetings, call a group member at 366-3493 or at 588-6842 on Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. or on weekend days. SECTION 2: Nonprofit agencies in Mecklenburg County
United Way 2-1-1 (Information and Referral Services)   (138, all)
This service provides comprehensive data and referral assistance for nonprofit and government resources in the NC counties of Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Union, and Anson counties and in or near the city of Mooresville, NC.  If you are calling on a landline or residential phone in one of those counties, dial 2-1-1.  If that fails, if you are calling on a cell phone, or if you are calling from anywhere else in NC, call 866/744-7778.  For calls from out of NC, use their local number of 704/377-1100. Although they are open 24 hours a day, you may wish to call weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. for non-emergency questions.
