Parents of troubled teens
ParentVoice. This program of the Mental Health Association of Central Carolinas provides a variety of services for families with children who have mental health, emotional, or behavioral challenges. This organization has a significantly energetic history with many caring people putting in lots of energy to make sure it works. No formal diagnosis is needed to participate in their free services.  They have three free support groups:
  • Empowering Parents and Caregivers at Grace United Methodist Church, 730 East Woodlawn Road, Charlotte, every 4th Tuesday 6pm-8pm (call Sheila)

  • Grandparents Raising Grandchildren at the Carlton Watkins Center, 3500 Ellington, Charlotte, monthly (call Barbara)

  • A.C.T.I.V.E Youth Teen Group at Grace UMC for ages 12 to 21, every 4th Tuesday from 6pm-8pm (call Kevin)
