Women's non-medical issues in general
Charlotte Domestic Violence Shelter (all groups). The Shelter provides support services and safety for women and children who are in or who have been in an abusive relationship with an intimate partner.  In addition to direct services for residents and their children, they provide two groups for adult women survivors: 1) a general recovrery group and 2) parenting issues. Women of Color Networking and Friendship Circle (Meetup). This group, founded in 2007,  provides a place to discuss, vent, and laugh about the many trials and tribulations of being a Woman of Color. The group provides a wide range of activities from volunteering, fitness, theater, book clubs, potlucks, and other ideas to come from new members.  As of this update, the group had 1194 members, 105 reviews, and 630 meetups (get togethers).  That aint chopped liver. http://www.meetup.com/womeninblack-33 (updated 4/21/2014) [report error]
