A twice a month opportunity to find healing, understanding, support, and education amongst others who have lost a family member or friend to suicide.  Please call to talk with a group leader before attending their twice a month evening meetings on Sardis Road near Fairview.  Their number is 541-9011 any day 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

A caring, monthly meeting for people who have lost anyone close to suicide.  The group meets just about 2 miles south of uptown Charlotte.  Call a group member for details at 704/372-8809 x 211 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or at 704/541-1173 Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

An informal group for people touched by suicide in any way.  The group is populated by adults with a wide variety of ages and backgrounds.  For details click here to see their web site.  For non-emergency matters, call a leader of the group at 704/592-4889 any day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. or 704/929-6190 Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The contact people are willing to talk with you at any hour if the need arises, but this is not the suicide hotline.  Please call the Mecklenburg County Mobile Crisis Team (see below) for suicide prevention or crisis.    Messages will be returned as soon as possible.

The Mecklenburg County Mobile Crisis Team is here 24 hours a day to help anyone with a crisis (suicide, those with mental illness needing to talk with a counselor, etc.)   Call 704/566-3410 anytime anyday for services.

This service provides comprehensive data and referral assistance for nonprofit and government resources in the NC counties of Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Union, and Anson counties and in or near the city of Mooresville, NC.  If you are calling on a landline or residential phone in one of those counties, dial 2-1-1.  If that fails, if you are calling on a cell phone, or if you are calling from anywhere else in NC, call 866/744-7778.  For calls from out of NC, use their local number of 704/377-1100. Although they are open 24 hours a day, you may wish to call weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. for non-emergency questions.
