Celebrate Recovery (Providence Road Church of Christ). A Christian 12 step program for people with any addiction or with hurts, habits, or hangups that get in the way of living life successfully. Meetings open with prayer but the rest of the meeting (type and issues addressed) are set by the needs of the members. Nicotine Anonymous (Inactive). This 12 step group to help people stop tobacco use ran from 2001-2008 and then 2011-2013.  It stopped meeting for lack of attendance; please contact us if you would like to start a group such as this one. QuitLine NC (smoking). A 24/7 cessation service available to provide telephone coaching in English and Spanish, as well as occasional access to patches, gum and other products.  All services are free. QuitSmart (nonprofit program). QuitSmart is a three-session smoking cessation program using a "warm chicken" approach (that means moving slow but sure in comparison to cold chicken) to easing off nicotine from cigarettes, cigars, and chewing tobacco.  For 2014 Levine Cancer Institute of Carolinas HealthCare System is paying the $50 for participation in the LiveWell QuitSmart program in our area.  Please check the website for a 2014 schedule.
