Charlotte Separated or Divorce Meetup Support Group. This meetup.com group was founded in 2008 and provides an opportunity to meet other people coping with a divorce or separation for support, fellowship, and fun. They list meetings for men and women for mutual support and at times with an expert speaker such as a divorce attorney. They also list meetings exclusively for women. Divorce Separation Recovery (DSR). A small peer-led group helping people deal with the pain of separation and divorce. They share mutual emotional support and discuss published articles relating to recent group discussions; they also utilize Rebuilding: When Your Relationship Ends written by Bruce Fisher. DivorceCare and DivorceCare for Kids. A 10 week program with a Christian emphasis for those going through divorce and for their children. TGIF (Separation and Divorce Group at St. Matthew). A group for adults before, during, and after a divorce. Their meeting structure flexes to match the needs of the members who are attending that meeting. They meet weekly in the evening. Be sure to call to confirm details before attending your first meeting. Women's Commission Domestic Violence Support Groups / Legal Clinic. Support groups for men and women who have been in, or are currently in, any type of abusive relationship as well as for their children ages 5-18 years. There is also a twice monthly legal clinic for consultations about family law (separation, divorce, custody, visitation, and violence). They also have a teen violence program.
