Visual impairment and eye diseases
Metrolina Association for the Blind (MAB) Support Groups. MAB sponsors services and groups for their clients covering adjustment to vision loss with attention to a wide variety of issues.  Please call them to speak with a case manager about eligibility requirements, scheduling,  and other specific questions; ask for Case Management Supervisor Dolly Baxter for general questions. These are nice people; they will bend over backwards to help you any way they can. Visually Impaired Group (VIP). A very supportive and welcoming group of friends all of whom have some sort of visual impairment. They gather at the Tyvola Road Senior Center on the third Thursday of each month from 1pm-3pm; they also have lots of contact for whatever reason between meetings.  Be sure to call to confirm meeting day and time and to ask any questions you may have.
